<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>At the beginning of the XXI century environmental problems began to have an integrated impact on various regions of our planet. The agenda of major international forums addresses issues related to their solution with the active use of renewable energy sources, including the expansion of the use of hydrogen in various sectors of the world economy. The article provides a brief overview on the prerequisites for the resumption of interest in the use of hydrogen as an energy source, a review of foreign experience in terms of regulatory regulation and incentives, as well as a retrospective analysis of domestic experience in the use of hydrogen and the prospects for the development of hydrogen energy in modern Russian realities. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>экологические проблемы</kwd><kwd>энергетические ресурсы</kwd><kwd>дефицит</kwd><kwd>альтернативные источники энергии</kwd><kwd>водород</kwd><kwd>Парижское соглашение</kwd><kwd>модель потребления</kwd><kwd>декарбонизация</kwd><kwd>нормативно-правовое регулирование</kwd><kwd>государственная поддержка</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>ecological problems</kwd><kwd>energetic resources</kwd><kwd>scarcity</kwd><kwd>alternative energy sources</kwd><kwd>hydrogen</kwd><kwd>Paris Agreement</kwd><kwd>consumption pattern</kwd><kwd>decarbonization</kwd><kwd>legal regulation</kwd><kwd>state support</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Грачев, В.
