DIGITAL SOCIOLOGY AND MODERN METHODS OF STUDYING THE POLITICAL ELITE

Abstract

The phenomenon of digitalization from a sociological point of view has been considered. The influence of digitalization as a driving force has been revealed both on the life of society and on the methods of its study. The most common methods of the new branch of sociology, called digital sociology, have been given. Existing advantages and disadvantages of these methods have been described. Special attention has been made to the application of these methods in political elite’s research and examples of their usage in scientific researches have been adduced.
