Personal maturity of youth focused on various helping activities

Abstract
The study researches the problem of personal maturity applied to youth and the specifics of its manifestation among boys and girls, focused on professional and volunteer helping activity. With the increase of infantilization among young people, the importance of personal maturity, focused on helping activity, is emphasized.
Based on the data available in psychological research, personal maturity is considered as the integration of some intrapersonal and interpersonal characteristics. The main criteria of personal maturity in among youth are indicated. The research contains the data of comparative study of the content aspects of personal maturity among youth focused on professional and volunteer helping activity.
The study participants included 267 young students, 157 people receive a helping profession and 110 are volunteers. Data collection included two methods: “Methodology for the diagnosis of personal maturity” by V.A. Ruzhenkov, V.V. Ruzhenkova and I.S. Lukyantseva and “Methodology for the diagnosis of components of socially oriented activity” by R.M. Shamionova and M.V. Grigorieva.
The results of the comparative analysis show that higher indicators of personal maturity, both in terms of intrapersonal and interpersonal characteristics, are noted among youth who involved in volunteer activity. It is concluded that volunteering is an effective resource for developing personal maturity in youth.
